SnowPro® Core Certification — COF-C03

What It Is

The SnowPro Core (COF-C03) certification validates your practical, hands-on knowledge of the Snowflake AI Data Cloud — including architecture, account and warehouse management, data loading/unloading/transformation, security, performance optimization, and governance. It replaces the previous COF-C02 version and launches February 16, 2026.

This is the foundational core certification and is highly recommended as the first step in Snowflake’s credential path.

Who the Exam Is For

Data engineers, analysts, database professionals, BI developers
Cloud and data platform professionals working with Snowflake
Individuals with at least ~6 months of hands-on experience with Snowflake; basic ANSI SQL familiarity recommended

No formal prerequisites — but real practice with Snowflake is strongly advised.

Exam Basics

Note: COF-C03 replaces COF-C02; COF-C02 may still be taken until May 2026 during the transition period.

What You’ll Be Tested On

The exam tests practical knowledge in key areas of the Snowflake platform. While official domain weights for COF-C03 can vary slightly from past versions, major topics typically include the following:

1. Snowflake AI Data Cloud Architecture

• Snowflake layers (storage, compute, cloud services)
• Editions and capabilities
• Interfaces and tools (Snowsight, SnowSQL)

2. Account Management & Governance

• Role-based access control (RBAC)
• Security policies, MFA, authentication
• Data governance, masking, protection

3. Data Loading, Unloading & Connectivity

• Stages, COPY/PUT commands
• Snowpipe, connectors
• Semi-structured and unstructured data handling

4. Performance Optimization & Querying

• Virtual warehouses types and scaling
• Clustering, caching, query performance concepts

5. Data Collaboration & Sharing

• Data sharing concepts
• Collaboration features and secure sharing

COF-C03 places bigger emphasis on AI tools and capabilities (like Snowflake Cortex, Snowpark, notebooks) than the older COF-C02 version.
